Obituary for Richard L. Knollenberg

In loving memory of our partner, brother and uncle, Richard Louis Knollenberg, 71 of Mattoon, Illinois who passed away on Thursday March 8th 2018 after a long-term illness. A native of Humboldt township, he was born on February 20, 1947, the son of William H. Knollenberg and Helen E. (Kastl) Knollenberg.
Richard is survived by his partner Monica Graham, sisters, Elizabeth, Rose and Jane, and brothers John, Robert, Walt and Daniel. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Joe and sisters Mary, Dorothy, and Patricia.
Richard attended and graduated from Humboldt Grade School and Mattoon High School. Richard farmed in Humboldt township from 1967-2015. He was involved with several different farm organizations including The Farmers Grain Co COOP at Dorans, IL. Richard was a very outgoing friendly person to everyone he met and well liked in the farming community of Coles County.
Memorial services honoring his life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Mattoon Immaculate Conception Church, 320 North 21st Street, Mattoon, IL 61938. Burial will be held at the Calvary Cemetery following the Mass. Visitation Services will be held at Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Avenue, Mattoon, IL 61938 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday March 16, 2018.
