Obituary for Glenn Allen Chaney

Glenn Allen Chaney, age 71, of Spring Hill, Tennessee passed away at 1:16 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
Graveside Services with Military Rites honoring his life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Dodge Grove Cemetery in Mattoon, Illinois. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Glenn was born on April 27, 1947 in Harrisonville, Missouri the son of Lawrence W. and Cora Lydia (Rowe) Chaney. They moved to Holden, Missouri where Glenn went to school and graduated from high school in 1965. He married Darlene K. Pippin on February 19, 1966.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene Chaney of Spring Hill, TN; sons, Christopher Eric Chaney and Derrick Shawn Chaney (Shelley); grandchildren, Brett C. Chaney and Danielle Chaney; and great-grandchildren, Rome Chaney and Grayson Chaney; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Herman, MaryAnn McClarey and Linda Pippin; and many loving nieces and nephews. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and son, Glenn Allen Chaney Jr.
Glenn served honorably in the United States Air Force. He worked at Royal Industries in Holden, Missouri until it closed. He worked at Bendix in Kansas City, Missouri for 12 years. After moving to Spring Hill, Tennessee he worked as an over the road truck driver for FedEx. At the age of 18 Glenn starting raising and showing Tennessee Walking Horses with his dad. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and time spent around the campfire. Glenn played in various softball leagues and tournaments in his younger years. In 1990, he attended spring training with the Kansas City Royals in Florida. Most of all, Glenn cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
