STEPHAN J. STRUC
Stephan “Steve” J. Struc, age 73, of Charleston passed away at 8:09 a.m. on December 12, 2017 at his residence

Funeral services honoring his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Reynolds officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Dodge Grove Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Steve was born on May 12, 1944 in Poland the son of Basilius and Maria (Czorna) Struc. He married Judith Louise Haskell on March 5, 1983. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2008.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen Peck of Yuma, AZ, Kay (Kyle) Lehman of Sullivan, IL; son, David Haskell of Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Joe (Nicole) Hartbank of Yuma, AZ, Brooke (Eric) Phillips of Summerville, SC, Ashley (Blake) Lindsay of Columbus, OH, Rachel (Jacob) Walton of Sullivan, IL, David Dewig of Evansville, IN, Jessica (Andrew) Tipton of Decatur, IL, Cutter Haskell of Lakland, FL, Cooper Haskell of Lakeland, FL; step-grandchildren, Stephanie (Chad) Clevenger of Mattoon, IL, Adam Lehman of Mattoon, IL, Colten Peck of Evansville, IN; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Oscar (Isabel) Struc of Addison, IL; nephews, Shawn Struc, Brian Struc, Mark Strege; and niece Lisa Struc. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, Melanie Strege.

Steve worked at General Electric and later for Columbia Machine. He served honorably in the United States Army. Steve was a wonderful man with a heart of gold. He was a world traveler and he and Judy had visited every continent in their travels. Steve especially enjoyed his time spent in Hawaii and Egypt. He spent time playing golf in his younger years and loved playing cards with his brothers-in-law. Steve was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed seeing them win the World Series. Most of all Steve loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations in his honor are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
