Obituary for Jack Bathe

Jack Raymond Bathe, age 68, of Mattoon passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Illini Heritage, Champaign.
Private family services will take place at a later date. Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jack was born on February 5, 1949 in Mattoon the son of Harry and Nelle (Empson) Bathe.
Survivors include his children, Heather (Demian) Holmberg of Leesburg, VA, David (Brandy) Biggs of Charleston, IL and Shanna Biggs of Mahomet, IL; grandchildren, Evie Holmberg, Quinn Holmberg, Dylan Holmberg, Coleson Holmberg, Ashley Biggs, Kris Biggs, Taylor Biggs, Lilley Winings and Clara Winings; and great grandchild, Kaisen Brink. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Bathe.
Jack served honorably in the United States Army. He worked on the railroad for many years. Jack recommitted his life to the Lord in 1996. He had a passion for ministry and became an Ordained minister of the Gospel. He dedicated his life to street ministry, bringing the word of Jesus to those in need. Jack was an avid fisherman, an amazing cook, and enjoyed going to the Book Nook. Most of all, Jack enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will be missed by all those who knew him, but he is now in the arms of his Lord and Savior.
